West Virginia Mountains

Country road take me home. Ha ha! This picture was painted on a weekend getaway to Canaan Valley State Park south of Davis West Virginia. An amazingly beautiful area with lots of pinks, violets, greens and blues, just rich with color.. Gorgeous in the summer and skiing in the winter. Fishing in the Black Water River. Black from the tannic acid from the oak leaves falling in the river, then there are the falls.  Everywhere you look there is a painting. An artist could spend a lifetime here and never begin to capture it all. Kind of like some of our national parks like the Grand Canyon or the Niagara Falls areas.
